Scheduling Instructions and FAQ

Things to be aware of

  • When you pick your test time note that this page also tells you how much time you have to take your test (i.e. 1 hour, 2 hours, etc.). Remember you are responsible for allotting yourself enough time to take your test within the hours in which the Online Testing Center is open. All tests are submitted when the Testing Center Closes regardless of completion.  If the time you want isn’t available, try selecting an earlier or later time that could work for you. Click “submit.”

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Q: The test day/time I want isn’t available, what do I do?
  • A: Pick the next available day/time that works for you. Tests are scheduled on a first come, first-served basis for each class. We recommend that you schedule your test appointments early in the semester so you can get the most convenient times.  Finals become available to schedule at the 8 week mark of the semester, so mark your calendar and don’t forget to schedule.  Refer to our Student Policies for more information.

  • Q: If I scheduled my test online do I need to bring in my student ID still?
  • A: Yes. We still need a valid photo ID to verify you for your test.

  • Q: Is my Student ID Card  the only form of Photo ID that the Testing Center accepts?
  • A: Any form of Photo ID works at the Testing Center – a Driver’s License is a great substitute.  The proctor reserves the right to ask for a second form of ID if your photo does not match your current appearance as it is their job to make sure that the right person is taking the right test.

  • Q: Other people get to use a NoteCard on their test… does that mean I can use one too?
  • A: Each test is different.  Professors specify what their students are allowed to use on their exams when they request their tests at the beginning of the semester.  Always ask the proctor before using any test aids on your exam.  If you are found using an unapproved Test Aid your exam will be submitted and you will be reported to your professor for academic dishonesty.

  • Q: Can I use my cell phone as a calculator or language translator?
  • A: No.  The reason your professor has decided to utilize the Testing Center is because we are able to restrict student access to outside information sources.  Cell phones count as outside information sources, so they are not a viable tool to use in the Testing Center.
    • Be prepared to bring your own, professor approved, language dictionary.  If your professor has approved the use of a calculator – you may bring your own or use one provided by the Testing Center depending on what your professor has specified.

  • Q: Is studying  ok in the Testing Center once I have checked-in?
  • A: No studying in the Testing Center is allowed.  Other students in your same class could see your notes.  Once you have checked-in for your exam you are expected to start your test immediately.

  • Q: If I walk-in to the Testing Center late and the Testing Center closes before I am done, can I stay late and finish my test?
  • A: Nope, all tests are submitted when the Testing Center closes regardless of completion.  It is the student’s responsibility to give themselves enough time to finish their exam before closing.

RegisterBlast Appointment Scheduler FAQs

  • Q: I tried to sign into the New Appointment Scheduler with my Boise State Username and Password and it won’t let me in, what do I do now?
  • A: Be sure to read the “First Time User” instructions posted on the Testing Center website.  You actually use your Boise State Email Address and a special password that is emailed to you (not the same as your Boise State Password).

  • Q: I tried the password they emailed to me and it won’t work, what do I do now?
  • A: Since the password is automated it definitely works, there are a couple trouble shooting steps you should go through if you are having trouble:
  • Step 1) Make Sure that you are typing in the correct password.  You can copy and paste it, or just be sure you are including all the characters.
    • EXAMPLE:  A student receives the password Xx_A12Bb- via the First Time User Instructions and reports that the password Xx_A12Bb does not work….
      • The reason the password does not work is because the student is not typing in the last character of the password, the “-“. Therefore the student is not typing in the correct password.  Please be very careful to make sure you aren’t missing a character.
  • Step 2) If you have verified you are typing in the correct password, make sure to clear your bowser history and cookies
  • Step 3) If you still have trouble – contact the Testing Center.  The staff will ask you if you have gone through the first two steps of this troubleshooting process, so please try Step 1 & 2 out before reporting the problem.

  • Q: I know I made an appointment, but when I checked the “My Account” page it didn’t show there.  What’s going on?
  • A: When you schedule an appointment the instructions tell you to use your Boise State Student Email Address.  This is the email address that is tied back to your account.  If you schedule an appointment and use a different email address, the computer system will not know it’s you and your appointment will not show in the “My Account” page.
    • To fix this please contact the Online Testing Center Staff and we can edit your appointment for you.
    • For future exams please be sure to use your Boise State Student Email Address to register

  • Q: I can’t find the “My Account” button on RegisterBlast, what the heck?!
  • A: RegisterBlast will automatically log you out of the system after you have created an appointment.  This is a security feature to prevent other students from having access to your appointment scheduling account.  If you need to do more actions with your account (like view the “My Account” button) please re-sign into the account.

  • Q:  I made an appointment for my test, and then decided I couldn’t make that time, so I made a new appointment for later in the week.  I just got a reminder email for the first appointment…?! I can’t take my test tomorrow, what’s going on?  What did I do & how can I fix it?
  • A:  You possibly made two appointments for the same test instead of rescheduling the first appointment.

  • Q: How do I clear my Internet Browser History?
  • A:  Every browser is different, so there is some logical deduction involved.  Here are few examples below.
    • Please note, sometimes you have to clear an Internet Browser History two or three times in order to be effective.

Google Chrome:

  • Select “Chrome” From the menu at the top of the screen.
  • Select “Clear Browsing Data
